By your bedside for 30 years
Bob Pring
Milton Keynes Hospital Radio was saddened to hear of the death of long time member Bob Pring, who passed away in late January after a long illness.

Bob had been a member of MKHR for around 10 years, and for most of that time had been the anchor for the Saturday afternoon Sports show.

Before joining MKHR, Bob had been an active member of several other  stations, including Radio Brockley and Radio Kings, with well over 20 years of service to Hospital Radio.

Bob also gave his time to fundraising events, not just for MKHR but also for local causes in his home village of Long Buckby.

He was particularly known for his love of the harmonica, on which he was something of an expert, and was always willing to play a quick tune.

Bob devised the idea of MKHR running a marathon broadcast to raise funds.  The first event, Live 45, was held in 2011 and has gone on to become an annual occurence which has so far raised around £6000 in total.

The 2011 event included a finale at Bletchley Park, and Bob is pictured (left) entertaining our audience with a rendition of Moon River.

We would like to extend our sympathy to Bobs family and friends at this sad time.
